Webinar: ‘Demand Response & Buildings’ [06/02/2014]
Commercial buildings are of particular interest given the significant load shifting potential they possess. The sector represents 30% of the European load with a potential of load shifting ranging from 4% to 15%. Moreover, the flexibility available in the commercial buildings is more readily exploitable than the residential buildings, where individual units and loads are small and more inelastic, or the industrial sector where production processes can be inflexible or complicated to on adjust.
The goal of this webinar was to provide an overview of the potential and barriers for Demand Response in commercial buildings in Europe. This webinar brought together speakers from 3 leading companies in the sector. They provided their views about viable business models; technologies involved; successful experiences and main difficulties.
- Bertrand Deprez - EU affairs Director - Schneider Electric
- Jukka-Pekka Häkli - CEO - SEAM
- Scott Petersen - Business Development Director - Smart Grid Solutions, Europe and North Africa- Honeywell Building Solution
The webinar was moderated by Marcelo de Moura Torres - SEDC Policy Officer
